Clinical Risk Management is the framework in which healthcare and social services, as well as all the professionals in the sector, take responsibility for the continuous improvement of the level of care, assistance and quality of the services provided to citizens.
The safety of patients, the quality of care and medical services, are therefore the priority objectives of the National Health Service.
This principle, in Italy, was re-confirmed by: “Legge 8 marzo 2017, n. 24 – Disposizioni in materia di sicurezza delle cure e della persona assistita, nonché in materia di responsabilità professionale del personale sanitario”, called “LEGGE GELLI”.
The overall improvement of quality depends on multiple factors, both systemic and individual.
With the adoption of the practice of good “Clinical Risk Management”, it is possible to place the needs of citizens at the center of the planning and management of healthcare services, and at the same time enhance the role, professionalism and responsibility of all the professionals working in Healthcare.
