RISK ASSESSMENT
“Risk assessment” or “risk analysis” is a specific process of risk management that is of fundamental importance, so much so that it has become a discipline in its own right. In some cases the Risk Manager requires the intervention of professionals who are experts in the assessment of specific risks. Risk Assessment therefore, is a methodology aimed at the determination of risks in general (General Risk Draft) or the analysis of particular risks associated with certain dangers or sources of risk. This discipline can be applied to varied areas of activity and fostered within the general processes requested by managers and aimed at improving the organization, quality and protection of assets; in some cases it may be imposed legally following the implementation of special laws. In the context of extraordinary operations initiated by the company, or in the case of particular financial transactions, the investor or sponsor extends due diligence to the area of “Risk”.In general, the Risk Assessment method can be used when assessing the dangerousness of an undesirable event in order to define the priority or urgency of the measures necessary to keep it under control. |
RISK MANAGEMENT PHASES
It is this process that, through targeted phases, aims to help organizations understand, evaluate and act on all their risks, in order to increase the chances of success and reduce the probability of failure. Risk management is an activity aimed at identifying, assessing, mitigating (at an acceptable level) and monitoring risks. In some cases the acceptable risk may be close to zero. Risks may originate from accidents, mistakes, violation of procedures, natural causes, other human factors such as: malicious intent, acts of terrorism, attacks deliberated by a competitor, etc. In managing risk it is essential to make the best decisions (Decision Making). |
